1. Read the Newspapers

Thorough knowledge of current affairs is an absolute must. The subjects included in the course are quite diverse and include trade, economics, finance and yes, most importantly politics. Make it a habit to read the newspaper every day. Any reputable newspaper will work just fine. The Hindu, Indian Express, and Times of India are all recommended. You can choose one that is convenient to you.What better way to catch up on your general knowledge than reading the morning papers, with a warm ‘cuppa tea.’

2. Knowledge Is Power

As a law aspirant, one of the most important prerequisites is the love for reading. One should have a good grasp of the law, and this can only be achieved if you read a variety of books related to the subject. This habit will help you even after you graduate from law school as you will need to reference various cases during practice. It is critical because understanding this will assist you in promoting legal culture awareness, involvement in the development of law, and the rule of law.

3. Logical Reasoning

Logical reasoning is the process of applying logic to a question or problem, in order to arrive at an answer. Logical reasoning differs from other forms of reasoning because it is based on facts and not personal opinion. To be a good lawyer one must have the ability to question and reason. By practising deductive reasoning, logical sequence (events that can be put together to make sense) and so on, you will only sharpen your ability to ace the test. Later, this very skill will help you to identify patterns and build a good case.

4. Know Your Subjects

All entrance papers have a pattern and it is vital to understand the way your questions will be framed. Well, to crack the test, you will need to have an in-depth knowledge of your subjects. You will have to polish up your English, Math, General Knowledge, Numerical Ability and Legal Ability. The number of questions in each subject varies, but a thorough grasp of the fundamental concepts in each subject will be extremely beneficial and score-boosting.

5. Talk to Your Seniors

What could be better in these circumstances than a senior who can provide you with all of the exam tips and pointers?It’s always a great idea to talk to your seniors/mentors or teachers and seek their help. Since they have gone through this before, bank on them for some valuable insights. Talking to them can assist you grasp what they’ve learnt about the topics and how the exam will cover a particular topic.

6. Mock Tests

The most important thing you need to do before appearing for any examination is to practice as much as possible. This means that you must go through all the study material available and make sure that you understand it well enough so that when it comes time for test day, you don’t feel lost at all! A must-do on this list is practice/mock tests. Whether you decide to join coaching classes or study on your own, this is crucial for your prep. Remember only practice makes one perfect.

7. 1+1=2

As it is evident that law entrance exam preparation is not limited to law, the next topic for an aspiring law student to prepare is mathematics, with questions based on numerous areas studied by a student in secondary school. So it’s best to brush up on your elementary maths. Don’t worry you don’t have to go too far back. Starting with your 8th-grade syllabus could be a good idea. Questions about speed and distance, ratios, and averages are common.

8. Time

Lastly, one of the most important things to keep in mind is time management. The best way to prepare for your exams is to make a schedule. Work out your schedule, follow it to the T. Make sure that the time when you are studying is enough. If you can fit everything as per plan, well, you have won half the battle.
